In this Episode I discuss my thought's on goals and why I think they're kind of weird. I also go into my thought's on how we should think of our place as artists. Where do we fit in, in the industries of entertainment.

The part about selling prints vs comics is 100% true. It completely blows my mind.

I know right! Heck but with all the unpaid work we do if we can get into the groove of selling a lot of prints it's a way to actually tip the balance back in our favor a little. Thanks for listening bro! :)

Hi Marshall,
I can relate to a lot of the things you say in this episode. I also find myself getting into an artistic funk and not drawing for a few days. When I do it's hard for me to restart. Once I do I enjoy it and can't believe why I procrastinated. Maybe it's not being able to see the big picture. Incremental day to day progress is hard to see and it's easy to get frustrated and feel you are going around in circles.

One thing I want to do is some more structured drawing lessons (practicing form, shading) rather than just drawing or doodling my favourite things over and over again. Every artist has their "go to" way of drawing a face which is perfected by doing a similar drawing countless times and engaging muscle memory. Unfortunately this can lead to only being able to draw a face in one particular way. Maybe a good counterpoint is to go back and relearn the basics so you can draw any face and any expression.
Feng Zhu explains it much better in his recent before and after video (episode 59)

I also want to do more drawings from life. Have been inspired by the work on Will Terrell. His Walmart sketches are so wonderful!

That is a wonderful piece of art and with it on canvass it gives it a nice feel.

I listened to this podcast day and loved it and thought you might also, "Financial Peace for the EntreLeader Part 2 with Rabbi Daniel Lapin" - http://www.daveramsey.com/entreleadership/podcast
