The Evil
'The Evil' is an ancient swamp monster of fables who exists in the outer edges of an undiscovered native community in the northern regions. The natives call him 'The Evil' because he rules the swamp thrashing about attacking the hopping, flying and crawling creatures day in and day out. What most don't realize however is he is thrashing about only to protect the roots of vegetation in the swamp from which he finds naurishment. What they don't know is he is a herbivore as old as the earth. The only one of his kind and if you are able to communicate with him telepathically he has gifts of wisdom for you to partake. Ponderings I allways hear of people in music and art using extreme emotion as a motivator in there work. Meaning if there happy they draw accordingly or if there angry they attack the page. It's odd to me that this method definately makes a lot of sense and seems to be a quite natural mode to slip into as an artist yet for whatever reason i do not recollect ever using this method myself in all my former creative outbursts. Well tonight i was in a bad mood because of some stuff i was thinking about and I decided to put the pen to paper and just let it take me where it may. It's funny as i drew the first lines in a very blind contour like fashion i knew allready that this character would be called "The Evil". Thing is i wanted to draw evil but i didnt want to create an evil character. So as i drew i came up with this story of an ancient miss understood character who while on the outside may look and act almost evil. Is actually only percieved that way hiding a very rich and fruitfull character on the inside. I don't know what it is with going straight to ink with the ballpoint but i have many times enjoyed the freedom of drawing in this style. Thank you for checking in today! Id love to hear your thoughts on this character! Come back tomarrow for another dose of EVIL!!! lol God Bless, -Calmplex Also Find Calmplex on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube or email me at [email protected]
