Check out the latest comic zine I made! This was made based on 3 prompts randomly picked from my friends Dede and Janet's list for there zine swap. The three prompts I got were "Jewel", "Pink" and "Lawn Chair". Somehow I ended up making a little story about a coal miner who instead of leaving for home after work digs deeper into the caves and enjoys some time checking out some beautiful scenery. I made this comic mostly with traditional mediums on one sheet of paper. The mediums were pencil, charcoal, inside envelope patterns, fine liners and sharpy. Once the traditional stuff finished I put it into the old ipad and used procreate to add the pink jewel effects. There is a video on my youtube channel documenting the process if your interested here "Creating a Comic Zine with Only 3 Words". If you'd like to check it out feel free to download, print and fold it yourself at the link below. Or just scroll and read it directly below.

I've been very inspired as of late of all the artists on youtube and instagram doing the Meet The Artist Tag and I figured why not join the fun! It's a little weird because this is the second self portrait type of art i've posted in a couple weeks and I so rarely actually do self portraits. That being said I'm starting to dig this cartoony version of myself so who know's maybe I will someday venture into the realm of some autobiographical work. Could be fun right? Let me know what you think! Anyways hopefully you dug this Meet the Artist 2017 sort of thing including the extra info with the likes and dislikes and stuff in my studio and all that. Some of you may have noticed my misspelling of Politics in the Dislike section lol Pretty embarrassing but hopefully my little correction was fun enough for people not to think I'm a total idiot. Video of Nat Van Dyke using this pen and others Today I wanted to show you guys and gals this awesome new pen I've been turned on to called the Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen - Twin Tip. I was turned on to this by an amazing video my friend Michael Valade turned me onto of Nat Van Dyke inking one of his pieces. I was mostly amazed by his art but I couldn't help but wonder what the heck kind of pens was he using. Through a bit of research I found out that one of them is this Brush Pen. It's an awesome compliment to my pentel pocket brush pen and I think I will keep it in my arsenal of fun art tools for a long time coming!!!
